Activities by Sally

A couple of years ago I had a blog called, 'Days with Muriel and Maude'. It was a collection of activities I would do with my two girls, affectionately nicknamed Muriel and Maude.

Given the times ahead here in Australia and the world, and the need for many to be house-bound with children, I thought I would put my teacher training back into use and add some activities back into the 'online universe' in an attempt to help those of us who are stuck at home trying to find activities to entertain our littlies.

So, here is 'Activities by Sally' a simplified version of 'Days with Muriel and Maude'.

(Please note: Where possible resources are made by myself. If not, they can be found via Google search or on Pinterest. I do not take credit for the creation of all resources supplied here.)

Making this weather station is probably a job best left for you OR for an older child. There's a fair bit of fiddly cutting and lots of laminating if you'd like it to last...

Just a one off activity here. For this one we used Air-Drying Clay. I've got a few old doilies from our various Grandmas and I thought we'd put some of them to use...

This week we're looking at the Letter 'L'. Muriel, at 3, still struggles with her 'l' sound erring mostly on the side of a 'y' or 'w' sound instead. (Distinguishing between Lizard and Wizard has been quite troublesome around here lately...

No Churn Ice-Cream. We used 600mL thickened cream (whipped), 375mL Condensed Milk, Vanilla and mixed in chopped chocolate!

Sewing Printables from Tinyme. I printed onto paper and then glued to cardboard for extra strength. I also punched the holes first using a thumb tac and our pinboard as backing. The girls then used embroidery thread and a wool needle.
